Ankara ready to help carry Turkmen gas to Europe via Turkey: Turkish FM

Ankara is ready to contribute to carrying Turkmenistan's gas via Turkey to Europe, Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said on Feb. 23.

"We are ready to do our part for the arrival of Turkmen gas in Turkey and through Turkey to reach Europe," Çavuşoğlu said at a joint press conference with his Turkmen counterpart, Rasit Meredov.

Energy Minister Temenuzhka Petkova commented on the state visit to Turkmenistan at the studio of the BNT. The possibility of importing gas from the Caspian state was also discussed in the interview. Petkova also commented on the procedure for selecting a company to implement Belene NPP and confirmed that Russia's Rosatom has declared a willingness to participate.

Turkmenistan and Bulgaria Discussing Joint Projects

A meeting of the intergovernmental Turkmen-Bulgarian commission for economic cooperation was held in Turkmenistan's Avaza tourist zone, Trend reports referring to a source involved in the talks.

The issues of cooperation in the field of energy, trade, agriculture, transport, and communication were discussed during the meeting.
