A Finnair Airlines plane flying from Helsinki to Paris landed an emergency in the Finnish city of Turku due to the death of a passenger on board, RIA Novosti reports.

The airline's press service says the plane made an unplanned landing in Turku because of a sick passenger.

A suspect detained for allegedly stabbing two people to death in a wild knife attack in the western Finnish city of Turku is being investigated for murder with possible terrorist intent, police said on Aug. 19.

Several people were stabbed in the southwestern Finnish city of Turku on Friday, police said after shooting and arresting a suspect.
 
"Police shot the suspected perpetrator in the legs," police wrote on Twitter. "The person has been arrested. We recommend that people avoid central Turku."
 
Police did not confirm the number of victims.
