According to the data of the Sofia Regional Health Inspectorate (SRHI), as of today Sofia is in stage 3 according to the National Operational Plan for dealing with the pandemic of COVID-19. Some of the measures will take effect on January 24, Monday, and others - on January 27. The decisions were made at a meeting of the Regional Health Council, DarikNews reports.

All students from 1st to 12th grade will return to school from Monday, Health Minister Stoycho Katsarov assured the media.

In the morning, the experts from the Ministry of Health discussed the possibilities for providing a safe environment and the possibilities under which students can return to class.

Queues of students who want to be tested to return to school formed this morning in front of the capital's laboratories.

From today, children from 5th to 12th grade can return to class if 50% of them have a green certificate. The test in the laboratories costs BGN 8.

More than 3,200 students from 5th to 12th grade returned to class in Sofia today. Most of them are in private schools. The only municipal school in the capital, the 164th Spanish-language high school, Miguel de Cervantes, managed to bring together 176 green-certified students in 8th, 9th and 10th grades. Ten of the 28 classes there are already conducting face-to-face training.

The spring vacation for students from first to 11th grade will be from April 3 to 11, inclusive.

Turkey will reopen schools for all elementary class students as well as for the students of 8th and 12th grade on March 1, Education Minister Ziya Selçuk has said, stressing that the return to schools would be on a voluntary basis.

The Minister of Education and Science Krassimir Valchev issued an order for distance learning until January 31st for students from 5th to 12th grade.

The education of students from 5th to 12th grade should be carried out, as far as possible, in an electronic environment by using the means of information and communication technologies, states the order.

The calendar was changed by the Ministry of Education.
The changes are planned to end the first semester on December 18 and for the winter break to be at the same time for students in Vojvodina and the rest of Serbia.
The students return to school on January 18.

The eighth graders are officially finished on June 5, while the end of the school year for students from the first to the seventh grade of elementary school is June 16.

We may agree with the Education Ministry's decision to scrap Ancient Greek and math from the compulsory curriculum for high school seniors at Greek schools. We may agree or disagree with the decision to keep physical education and religion classes on the roster.
