Overview: Russian Missiles hit 8 regions in Ukraine, at least 30 Casualties

Over 30 people were injured in Kyiv as a result of the enemy shelling; the number of dead is being specified, spokeswoman of the Ukrainian State Emergency Service Svetlana Vodolaga told Ukrinform today.

According to her, rescue teams are working simultaneously in several places in the capital.

Ukraine claws back some territory, nuclear plant in peril

Ukrainian forces on Sep. 9 claimed new success in their counteroffensive against Russian forces in the country's east, taking control of a sizeable village and pushing toward an important transport junction. The United States' top diplomat and the head of NATO noted the advances, but cautioned that the war is likely to drag on for months.

Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Ukrainian forces "liberated dozens of settlements" and regained 1,000 square km of territory in the east and south since September 1.
In his speech on Thursday, Zelensky also released a video in which Ukrainian soldiers claim to have captured the town of Balakliia near Kharkiv, Ukraine's second largest city, Reuters reports.
