Three people die of heart attack during polls

Three people died of a heart attack at separate polling stations during the presidential and parliamentary elections on May 14.

In the Black Sea province of Rize, 64-year-old Şeref Kurt was on duty at one of the polling stations set up at a school where he also voted.

He suddenly collapsed at the polling booth around 9 a.m.

A map of the Republic of Turkey, including territories from Bulgaria, was posted on a Facebook profile linked to Turkey's National Defense Minister Hulusi Akar.

Foreign Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva immediately ordered Deputy Minister Petko Doikov to contact the Turkish Ambassador Hasan Ulusoy, Bulgaria's foreign ministry reported.

The meeting is ordered by Bulgaria's Deputy Premier and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva. Ambassador Ulusoy should explain his words on May 12 which caused tension between Bulgaria and Turkey.

Over 1 mln Turks flock to touristic destinations during long public holiday

Nearly 1 million Turkish people went on holiday during a 10-day public holiday, which started late on Aug. 25 and ended on Sept. 3, creating more than 1 billion Turkish Liras ($292 million) of tourism revenue, according to tourism players. 

Hotel occupancy rates hit 100 percent in many tourism resorts.
