Government Nominates Irina Bokova for UN Head
Bulgaria's Government decided to nominate current UNESCO Director-General Irina Bokova for UN Secretary-General, reports news.bg.
If elected, Bokova will hold the position from January 1 2017 to December 2012, said the Council of Ministers.

Bulgaria to Nominate Irina Bokova for UN Secretary-General
Bulgaria will nominate UNESCO's Director-General Irina Bokova for the post of UN Secretary-General, according to unconfirmed reports.
The proposal was made by Bulgaria's Foreign Minister Kristian Vigenin, but no official statement has been released yet, Focus agency reported.

Irina Bokova Receives Personality in the News 2013 Award
H.E. Irina Bokova, Director-General of UNESCO, attended the annual awards ceremony for Novinite's "Personality in the News 2013", Monday.
"Wherever I go, no one forgets that I am Bulgarian!", Bokova claimed upon receiving the award in the Politics category.

Irina Bokova: Cultural Heritage Key for Bulgaria’s Tourism Strategy
Irina Bokova is a Bulgarian politician and diplomat, the Director-General of UNESCO. In 2013, she was re-elected for a second term as the head of the organization.
Bokova has been a Foreign Minister of Bulgaria (1996-1997) during the government of PM Zhan Videnov, as well as a former Ambassador of Bulgaria to France and to Monaco.
