Centre for children’s rights established in cooperation between the University of Thessaly and UNICEF
A Memorandum of Cooperation for the support of children’s rights in Greece has been signed by the University of Thessaly and UNICEF. In the framework of the cooperation between the two institutions, the establishment of a Centre for the Rights of the Child, based at the University in Volos, is being inaugurated.
Ukraine War Claims 2,400+ Children’s Lives
According to UNICEF, at least 2,406 children have been killed or injured in the war in Ukraine, with verified reports marking nearly 1,000 days since the conflict began. This toll includes 659 children killed and 1,747 injured, averaging at least 16 children harmed each week.

UNICEF to open global office in Istanbul
Turkish parliament has received a presidential decree approving the establishment of a United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) global office in Istanbul.
The agency will relocate to the Istanbul office its key operations, including human resources, emergency operations and major finance and administration units.

6 million children in SE Asia affected by Yagi: UNICEF
Deadly floods and landslides triggered by Typhoon Yagi have affected nearly 6 million children across southeast Asia, the U.N. said on Wednesday, as the death toll from the disaster rose.
Typhoon Yagi brought powerful winds and torrential rainfall to Vietnam, Thailand, Laos and Myanmar when it swept across the region almost two weeks ago.
UN says malnutrition crisis worsening in Mideast, N Africa
The United Nations warned Monday of a "deepening crisis" of malnutrition in the Middle East and North Africa affecting a third of children.
