5 candidates from ex-Yugoslav area in race for UN sec-gen
Former Serbian Foreign Minister and UN General Assembly President Vuk Jeremic is the 9th candidate in the race for Ban Ki-moon's successor.
Jeremic is also the fifth candidate for the post of UN secretary-general from the former Yugoslavia.
Party urges authorities to back Jeremic for UN chief
The Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) has called on authorities to, "as soon as possible," choose Vuk Jeremic as Serbia's candidate for the top UN job.
The party said on Tuesday this would be "a nationally responsible move."
