United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon

BELGRADE - Serbian Defense Minister Bratislav Gasic visited Serbian troops participating in the UN Multinational Operation in the Republic of Lebanon (UNIFIL), where they are engaged in the monitoring and maintaining the cessation of hostilities, and the normalization of living conditions, the ministry released on Sunday.

BELGRADE - Serbian Defence Minister Bratislav Gasic will on August 22-24 visit the Serbian Armed Forces troops deployed in the United Nations peacekeeping operations in Cyprus and Lebanon, the Ministry of Defence said on Thursday.

Parliament July 2 voted to extend the mission of Turkey’s troops in Lebanon under the United Nations’ peacekeeping mission for one more year.

At the ceremony in the command centre of the UN multinational operation in Lebanon at the Miguel de Cervantes base, Serbian peacekeepers received the medal from Head of Mission Major-General Paolo Serra.
