Zannier urges Serbs to take part in Kosovo elections

BELGRADE - Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Secretary-General Lamberto Zannier has urged Serbs to take part in the June 8 legislative elections in Kosovo-Metohija.

In a statement to reporters on Saturday, Zannier said that he has always been convinced that progress on the Kosovo issue requires participation in elections.

UN Security Council discusses report on Kosovo

BELGRADE - The UN Security Council will hold a meeting on Tuesday to discuss the latest report by Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on the situation in Kosovo, and Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic will also speak at the meeting.

Nikolic will meet with Ban during his visit to New York, the presidential press service has stated.

Kosovo Prepared for June General Elections

The Central Election Commission of Kosovo, CEC, is continuing preparations for the upcoming general elections, which will be held across the country on June 8.

Enis Halimi, executive chief of the CEC secretariat said they “have made all necessary activities and operations in order to ensure that everyone can use his civic and political right to vote”.

Ban: Forming community of municipalities remains challenge

NEW YORK - Challenges remain in the implementation of certain provisions of the Brussels Agreement - in particular with regards to the establishment of the community of Serb municipalities - which, however, should not overshadow the remarkable progress achieved in the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said in the latest report on Kosovo-Metohija.
