Around 4% of recipients will have to repay Covid-related state aid
Ljubljana – During the Covid-19 epidemic, companies received various forms of state aid. Some were not so badly affected and will now have to repay the received subsidies. According to an estimate by the Slovenian Financial Administration (FURS), this amounts to just under EUR 90 million, just over 4% of the total amount paid out.

Ljubljana – Partial wage subsidy for furloughed workers has been extended into May. This is a measure to reduce the risk of companies deciding to lay off workers as they face a reduced demand or negative shocks in productivity related to the Covid-19 epidemic, the government has said.
Parliament confirms latest stimulus law

Finance Committee approves several amendments to new corona package
Ljubljana – The parliamentary Finance Committee has approved the newest corona crisis package after two contentious provisions were thrown out by the opposition. The committee also okayed a coalition-sponsored provision denying aid to those violating government decrees despite warning that the amendment is unconstitutional.
Govt extends most measures to help businesses until end of March
Ljubljana – The government has extended by another three months most measures aimed at helping businesses, farmers and employees bridge the crisis. The measures that would have expired at the end of the year will thus be in place until the end of March.

Ljubljana – The National Assembly will convene an emergency session next Tuesday, on 29 December, to confirm the government’s latest economic stimulus package, the college of deputy group leaders decided on Monday.
New economic stimulus package adopted, focus on income support and aid to companies
Ljubljana – The government adopted on Saturday a new economic stimulus package. Direct income support for groups including pensioners, students and those with the lowest wages is planned along with aid for companies. Finance Minister Andrej Šircelj said the package is estimated at around EUR 550 million.
