23 Turkish universities rank on Times Higher Education's list
Twenty-three Turkish universities have entered the 2019 Times Higher Education world university rankings, with two making the top 500 on the list.

A total of 525,473 students were enrolled in 63 Turkish foundation universities as of February, according to a newly prepared report by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), which is the first detailed study of the foundation universities in the country.

Data point to sharp increase in university violence, crime
Instances of violence and lawlessness at 16 Greek universities have sharply increased in recent years, reaching 53 in 2017, according to data compiled by the rector of the University of Macedonia, Achilleas Zapranis.
Students stage protest sit-in at Thessaloniki's Aristotle University
Members of the philology faculty of Thessaloniki's Aristotle University on Friday continued a sitin at the institution's central administrative offices.
The students are protesting a new law for tertiary education that foresees certain cutbacks including a possible end to free textbooks.
Tuition Fees Go Up by 13.6% From 2017
The beginning of 2017-2018 academic year will see the tuition fees for certain BA and MA programs of some state universities across the country go up by 13.6%, reported Standart News.
The increase is also for the medical schools, Varna Medical University is the only one to set higher tuition fees for its programs Medicine, Pharmacy and Dentistry. The increase is by BGN 300 a year.
