Documentary on Turkish armed drone released on Youtube
A documentary on Turkey's first armed drone was released on the first day of the Muslim holiday of Eid al Fitr.
The feature, titled AKINCI after the model's name, documents the development of the unmanned combat aerial vehicle (UCAV) and was posted on the YouTube channel of arms maker Baykar Technologies on May 24.
Israel to lease surveillance drones to Greek Defense Ministry
Israel will lease surveillance drones to Greece following a deal between the two countries' defense ministries, Bloomberg reports.
The three-year lease agreement gives Greece the option to buy the drones after the end of the period, the report said.
The Heron unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are made by Israel Aerospace Industries Ltd.
BNR: Bulgarian Ministry of Defense Launches Drone Delivery Tender
Sources from the Bulgarian Ministry of Defense have reported that a tender for the delivery of drones for the army was announced in the last days of 2019. The value of the contract would be about 13 million euros. Invitation for participation in the contest has been sent to 24 companies from the USA, Israel, Italy, Bulgaria and other countries, BNR reported.
Test of new drone’s capabilities at air base
The technical capabilities of the MQ-9 Guardian drone were demonstrated Thursday at the Larissa air base. Manufactured by US firm General Atomic Aeronautical Systems, the MQ-9 can fly for more than 40 hours, has a thermal camera and a daytime camera and a radar range of 250 km.

Turkish army purchases indigenous machine gun drone
The Turkish military is expanding its inventory with Songar, the first Turkish-made armed drone capable of firing automatic weapons.
Eight Songar drone systems, equipped with automatic machine guns, will enter service with the deal signed between Turkey's Defense Industries Presidency and the drones' manufacturer, Asis Elektronik.
Olympus drones to help with wildfires
Two drones, priced at 75,000 euros each, will be procured by the agency managing Olympus National Park in central Greece with money from the European Union's Partnership Agreement for the Development Framework (ESPA).
The drones will be used to survey the area during the summer wildfire season as well as to capture footage to be used in promotional material.

Turkey Is Arming Ukraine with Unmanned Aerial Vehicles
Leading Turkish developer of unmanned aerial vehicles Baykar has delivered another batch of drones Bayraktar TB2 in Ukraine.
Three aircraft, ammunition, simulator, camera systems and ground data terminals were delivered to the Ukrainian Air Force.
The newly delivered drones are being tested at an air base in Starokostiantyniv in Western Ukraine, Sabah reported.
Turkish drone flies over Greek islet in eastern Aegean
A Turkish unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) flew over the tiny islet of Ro, west of the Dodecanese island of Kastellorizo, on Monday afternoon, the Hellenic Armed Forces General Staff (GEETHA) said.
The drone, which flew at 20,000 feet, entered Greek airspace at 3.12 p.m. It was identified and chased off, in line with international rules of engagement.
