Riot unit targeted in Thessaloniki
A riot police unit came under a barrage of Molotov cocktails on Agios Dimitriou Street, outside the Turkish Consulate, in Thessaloniki on Wednesday evening.
Initial reports said the incident occurred at around 8.15 p.m. when a group of assailants hurled the firebombs and then fled in the direction of nearby Kallithea Square. Police are investigating.

Clashes break out after student rally in central Athens
The Greek police fired tear gas and flashbang grenades against a group of approximately 30 hooded youths who were throwing petrol bombs and setting fire to garbage containers following a student rally in central Athens on Thursday. One policeman sustained minor injuries during the clashes.

Hooligan probe focusing on instigator
The younger brother of the 18-year-old who fired a flare at a police officer, severely injuring him, during a volleyball match in Athens last week, testified to police on Wednesday, claiming he attempted to deter him.
The 16-year-old boy was summoned to testify again because of inconsistencies between his testimony and that of his brother, sources said.

Brother of main suspect in police officer’s injury testifies again
The younger brother of the 18-year-old who injured a police officer in Rentis with a flare testified to the police on Wednesday, claiming he attempted to deter him. According to state broadcaster ERT, the confessed perpetrator's relative asserted that he feared potential riots after he had observed many individuals holding Molotov cocktails, flares, and stones.
Riot police attacked outside Thessaloniki University
A riot police unit posted outside a building at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki that had been an anarchist squat until it was cleared recently, came under attack on Wednesday morning.
The surprise attack took place at around noon and involved a group of assailants, who had their features covered, lobbing Molotov cocktails at the officers.

16 year old girl injured in violent incident between rioters and police in Athens
Violent incidents took place on Saturday night between police and unidentified individuals in the Athenian neighborhoods of Neo Iraklio and Exarchia.
Eight teenagers arrested for firebombing school
Eight teenagers, all aged 16 years old, were arrested by police on Thursday on suspicion of firebombing a high school in an Athens suburb in an apparent case of gang rivalry.
Police said that at around 2 p.m., the group threw 3 Molotov cocktails into the courtyard of Moschato 2nd High School before running away.
