Croatia Accuses Eight of Smuggling Hundreds of Kilos of Cocaine

Croatia's Bureau for the Prevention of Corruption and Organized Crime, USKOK, has filed an indictment against eight Croatian citizens for smuggling hundreds of kilograms of cocaine and selling weapons.

The principal defendant, Petar Cosic, 52, is also accused of the murder of Milan Milovac, 47, who collaborated with the Belgrade drug lord Darko Saric.

Dinamo Zagreb Chief Arrested Again in Croatia

Police arrested Mamic early on Wednesday morning along with four other people, on an arrest warrant issued by Croatian Office for Suppression of Corruption and Organized Crime, USKOK.

Unconfirmed reports suggested that Mamic was arrested along his son Mario, who used to manage a sports agency founded by his father, which had contracts with some of Dinamo's players.

USKOK Wants Croatia Mayor Back Behind Bars

Croatia's Office for suppression of corruption and organized crime, USKOK, on Tuesday called for Zagreb Mayor Milan Bandic to be taken back into custody until investigations into his alleged crimes are complete.

Bandic - currently on bail - is accused of using his period at liberty to influence a witness in his upcoming trial, forge documents and undermine the judicial process.
