According to the world media, the forces of the Sixth Fleet are in question which headed to the Black Sea in order to carry out operations with NATO allies and partners. The exercises will also be performed in the Mediterranean Sea.

Russian military aircraft were scrambled to head off a US warship that was acting "aggressively" in the Black Sea, state news agency RIA reported on May 30, but the Pentagon denied any unusual behavior. 

Some 1,500 troops and 12 ships from Romania, an American destroyer and a sea dredger from Bulgaria are taking part in a major naval exercise organised by the Romanian Navy.

The drills aim to strenghten the level of inter-operability between NATO forces as well as inter-agency cooperation in Romania, in an environment facing multiple threats, a Romanian naval statement said.
