A whopping 90 percent of Greeks believe in the effectiveness of vaccines in preventing infectious diseases according to a survey released today by Eurobarometer. The EU average is 86 percent.
The study was conducted at a time in which citizens' trust in vaccines has declined due to disinformation.

Nearly 500 Measles Cases in Bulgaria
There have been 497 cases of measles on the territory of Bulgaria as of April 24. The outbreak in Blagoevgrad Province is fading, but it is growing in Sofia-city and Sofia Province, writes NOVA TV.

107 Cases of Measles Reported in Blagoevgrad Region
Some 107 cases of measles have been reported in the Blagoevgrad region, according to the site of the Regional Health Inspection - Blagoevgrad. On 2 April, 6 children aged 1 to 5 were hospitalised. They were admitted to the infectious disease wards in hospitals in Gotse Delchev and Blagoevgrad. So far, 600 contacts of measles cases have been identified.
Russian disinformation and the measles surge in Greece
According to recent reports from international health experts, Europe is currently experiencing a 20-year high in measles cases, including in many countries where it had been mostly eradicated. Within the European Union, Greece has been hit the worst.
