Gothic novelist Anne Rice dead at 80

Anne Rice, the gothic novelist best known for writing "Interview with the Vampire," died on Dec. 11 aged 80, her family said.

"In her final hours, I sat beside her hospital bed in awe of her accomplishments and her courage," her son Christopher Rice said in a post on her Facebook page.

He said she died of complications from a stroke.

Vampire crisis in Malawi forces UN to evacuate its staff!

Vampires are more than ghost stories in some places. In Malawi, a vampire scare has led to a spate of ongoing killings.

The African country is facing on-going mob violence, forcing the United Nations to evacuate its staff from some parts of the country. This isn’t the first time Malawi faced a vampire crisis. It happened before in 2002.

'Vampire' Funeral Found Near Vratsa

A Medieval funeral of a man was found during an archaeological dig near Bulgaria's northwestern town Vratsa, reports the Bulgarian National Radio. 

The man was buried near the Vratsata pass, in a Christian manner, but with a large stone on the left side of his chest, where the heart is, said Nartsis Torbov, one of the archaeologists at the site.
