Minibus Catches Fire on Pazardzhik-Velingrad Road, Passengers Escape Unharmed

A minibus traveling along the Pazardzhik-Velingrad road caught fire while in motion, leading to a dangerous situation. The incident occurred shortly after the railway crossing on the route towards Velingrad. The vehicle, which was carrying several passengers, unexpectedly ignited during the drive. Fortunately, everyone on board managed to exit safely, and no injuries were reported.

A man's life is in danger after he was hit by the Rhodope narrow-gauge railway in Velingrad.

The incident happened minutes before 1:00 p.m., shortly after the train crossing near the former bakery in the town in the direction of Chepino district.

The man is about 30 years old. He had headphones in his ears and was walking very close to the railway line.

More than 2.5 million tourists have travelled in Bulgaria since the beginning of the summer season, according to statistics from the Unified Tourist Information System (UIS). The main share of them are Bulgarians, reaching over 1,680,900 for the period from May 1 to August 8, 2021. In the same period there were 887,629 foreign visitors.
