Bulgarian President Considers Imposing No Veto over New BGN 16 B Debt

Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev is not considering to impose veto on the issue of new BGN 16 B debt, which was approved by Parliament on Wednesday.

Plevneliev announced this after his participation at the awards ceremony of the Bulgarian forum of business leaders on Wednesday, daily Dnevnik reports.

Lawmakers upheld a veto on amendments to the Competition Protection Act imposed by Bulgaria's President Rosen Plevneliev.

Friday's vote was the first time the current Parliament did not reject a presidential veto, with a total of nine motions (including the successful one) having been issued in just over a year.

Bulgaria's Parliament to Discuss Vetoed Interior Ministry Bill

Bulgarian MPs will again discuss the Ministry of Interior Bill which was adopted in end-May, and was vetoed by President Rosen Plevneliev.

After the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP), the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS) and the Ataka party rejected the veto, the bill will be put up for discussion again, Wednesday, Nova Tv reports.
