A serious accident has closed the Trakia highway at the exit from Burgas, resulting in one fatality. The collision involved two cars, and authorities have confirmed the death of one individual.

An alarming chain accident involving seven cars and a bus has caused a traffic standstill at Burgas's entry point, as stated by the city's Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The incident occurred near 8:40 a.m. at the "Vetren" neighborhood exit, detailed Tsvetelina Randeva, the local police spokeswoman, in a report to BTA.

A woman posing as a municipal employee kidnapped a cat in the "Vetren" neighborhood of Burgas and castrated it, Nova TV reported.

250 acres of oak forest and pastures burned yesterday near Vetren. The fire started from the old landfill of the city, which, according to the district government, should be safe. Throughout the night, firefighting teams from Pazardzhik and Belovo, as well as forestry officials, kepт a sharp eye on the flames. At the moment the fire is localized, but the smoke is settling over Vetren

Some 120 decares of the forest are burning near the town of Vetren, Pazardzhik region in southern Bulgaria on August 22. According to initial reports, the fire started from the landfill, and from there on dry grass and shrubs it was transferred to the nearby forest and engulfed a large area of it, reports BNT. 

From today, employees of the Food Safety Agency will begin checks on the private farms of people in the 20-kilometer surveillance zone. The aim is to determine whether farmers have voluntarily killed their domestic pigs.

The deadline expired on Friday. In the Plovdiv region the villages around the Industrial Zone of Rakovski, Stryama and Belozem will be checked first.

METALHEAD BEER FEST comes in early August in Burgas with a nice blend of craft beer, delicious food, a rock concert and fun for the kids.

The festival will be held on August 3rd and 4th, Saturday and Sunday, in Mineralni bani Park - Vetren quarter. Admission is free. During the holiday, the cars, except for the vehicles servicing the event, will be banned in the recreation area.

A flu epidemic has been declared in the regions of Stara Zagora, Silistra, Burgas and Shumen. In Burgas, school classes are suspended from today until January 18, reports Focus News Agency. 

The Trakia highway in the Kameno area, between 334 and 336 km, is closed in both directions from 16.40. The reason is smoke due to a fire in the area of ​​the Kameno municipality. Bright grasses in the fields are blazing, but because of the wind it is difficult to stop the flames.

The purpose of the initiative is to collect books that will be donated to community centers located in two Bulgarian villages: the village of Dalboki (Stara Zagora) and the village Vetren Dol (Pazardzhik).
