Vienna New Year's Concert

The Vienna Mozart Orchestra returns to Athens for its third New Year's concert at the Christmas Theater (137 Veikou). Performing in authentic 18th-century costumes, the orchestra will transport the audience to the stunning Austrian capital with iconic works by Mozart and the Strauss family.

It's been an 80-year tradition for the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra to give New Year's concert dedicated to the music of the Strauss family, renowned for waltzes including "The Beautiful Blue Danube" and "Radetsky March."

The Vienna Philharmonic did its best to give a troubled world a soothing start to 2018 on Jan. 1 with its traditional New Year's Concert, broadcast live in over 90 countries.

Indian maestro Zubin Mehta will seek to inject what he says is some much-needed harmony into the world when he conducts the illustrious Vienna New Year’s Concert on Jan. 1.
