The post, which was later deleted, suggested a scenario in which Moldova becomes part of Romania, and Romania, in turn, is absorbed into Russia.

The co-chair of the Save Romania Union - Party of Liberty, Unity and Solidarity (USR PLUS) Dan Barna stated on Monday that, at the moment of establishing the governing coalition, Florin Citu seemed to be "a reforming Prime Minister", closer to Romania's need for change.

Prime Minister Florin Citu has delegated his office duties as acting health minister to senior official with the Ministry of Health Andrei Baciu, official sources have told AGERPRES. On Wednesday, Citu took over as acting health minister after he had previously dismissed health minister Vlad Voiculescu and Deputy Prime Minister Dan Barna refused to be the acting health minister.

PLUS (Freedom, Unity, Solidarity Party) leader Dacian Ciolos labeled as "absolutely unacceptable" the manner in which PM Citu removed Vlad Voiculescu from the office of Minister of Health without consulting with the USR (Save Romania Union) PLUS Alliance and the Coalition.

Romania's Prime Minister, Florin Citu, on Wednesday dismissed Vlad Voiculescu as Minister of Health after a series of blunders that included the deaths of three COVID-19 patients after ventilators failed at a Bucharest mobile ICU.

"I have handed President Klaus Iohannis the necessary documents to revoke Vlad Voiculescu from his post as Minister of Health," Citu said in a statement.
