Legendary Serb military leader Vojvoda Putnik honored in Belgrade
Wednesday marked 100 years since the death of Serbia's legendary late 19th and early 20th century military leader, Vojvoda (voivode) Radomir Putnik.
The anniversary was marked with a ceremony at the monument dedicated to Vojvoda Putnik located in the New Belgrade Cemetery.

Legendary Serbian WW1 military leaders honored in Belgrade
The City of Belgrade, the government and the Serbian Army on Friday honored three Serbian military greats and heroes from the First World War era.
On the occasion of the anniversary of their deaths, delegations today laid wreaths at the graves of Voivode (vojvoda) Zivojin Misic, Voivode Petar Bojovic, and Army General Pavle Jurisic Sturm.
STEPHEN THE GREAT AND HOLY COMMEMORATION/ The Soroca Citadel
The Soroca settlement is first recorded in a document dated 1499. The foundation is attributed to Stephen the Great, who would have ordered the building of a citadel on the right bank of the Dnester River, on the site of Alciona, an old Genoa fortress.
STEPHEN THE GREAT AND HOLY COMMEMORATION/ The tomb of Voivode Stephen the Great
Stephen the Great and Holy's tomp is placed in the funerary vaults conceived as a passage towards the nave through two massive columns. Built on the ruler's order 12 years before his death, the tomb of the Pious Ruler Stephen is located in the southern part of the funerary vaults.
