GERB - United Patriots Мeeting Held in Sofia

GERB party, which won the early parliamentary elections in Bulgaria and the United Patriots coalition - National Front for the Salvation of Bulgaria, VMRO and Ataka - held a meeting in Sofia, according to BNR.

After the meeting, VMRO leader Krasimir Karakachanov commented that there are no negotiations on the formation of a new cabinet as yet and that such talks are yet to be held.

Centre For Analyses and Marketing: GERB - 31.4%, BSP - 30.7%

A total of five parties will enter the 44th Parliament, while Rumen Radev is the best liked politician, showed data from the nationally representative survey of the Centre for Analyses and Marketing, presented by director Yuliy Pavlov, reported BGNES.

The sample included 1012 adult citizens and was carried out in the period March 10 - 16.

GERB leader and former Prime Minister Boyko Borisov enjoys the highest approval rating among Bulgarian politicians, a poll by Alpha Research agency has shown.

As many as 31.9% have of respondents approve him, more than three months after he submitted his resignation as Prime Minister and a month since he left office, according to data released on Monday.

Ataka's Leader Siderov Remits Borisov's Legal Expenses of BGN 35,000

The leader of Ataka Volen Siderov has remitted BGN 35,000 in legal expenses incurred by Boyko Borisov in the slander case against Siderov initiated by Borisov.

"If Siderov had not turned out to be human, my entire salary as PM would have been forfeited," commented Borisov to journalists.

Bulgarian Nationalist MP Sentenced to Two Years of Probation

Sofia City Court (SGS) sentenced on Wednesday Bulgarian MP from nationalist Ataka party, Desislav Chukolov, to two years of probation.

Chukolov will have to meet with probation officer each week and will have to serve two years of community service. In addition, he will be subject to 25 % deduction from his salary.

Nationalist Ataka party's leader Volen Siderov and lawmaker Desislav Chukolov have been sentenced to two years of probation.

Siderov and Chukolov will have their salaries deduced by 25% for two years' time after pleading guilty. They will also have to meet a probation officer twice a week.

Bulgarian Nationalist Ataka MPs Convicted of Hooliganism

Sofia City Court (SGS) convicted on Monday the leader of nationalist Ataka party, Volen Siderov, and his fellow party member, Desislav Chukolov, of hooliganism.

Siderov and Chukolov are convicted of hooliganism for their incursion into the building of the National academy for theatre and film arts (NATFIZ) on the night of the local elections on October 25 last year.
