Russian President announced this morning that he ordered a "special operation" in Ukraine, after which there was literally additional chaos in that country, but also in the whole world. Russian tanks entered the territory of Ukraine, and according to world media, several Ukrainian cities were shelled, and according to reports from the field, bombs are also falling around Kiev.

The DNR and LNR authorities announced the evacuation of the population to the territory of Russia, after which a general mobilization was introduced.

Zelensky called Putin, but...

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin has spoken over phone on Feb. 23 amid Ukraine crisis. 

Turkey is ready to do its part to calm tensions in Ukraine, Erdoğan told Puti,n according to a statement by the communications directorate. 

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has asked its citizens to leave Russia immediately. That's over 1 million people.

This is partly due to the argument that Kyiv will not be able to provide consular services to the population and it will become impossible to assist them when needed. Ukraine's diplomatic service also warned planners to travel to Russia to refrain from such steps.

The President of Ukraine mobilized the country's reservists for active service, but for now, refrained from announcing a general mobilization, and warned that the country could face a battle for its very existence.

Ljubljana – Slovenia’s officials strongly condemned Russia’s recognition of the separatist regions of Donetsk and Luhansk in eastern Ukraine as independent entities. Prime Minister Janez Janša called for the EU to offer Ukraine the prospect of full membership. Slovenia is also ready to support the country’s membership of the EU.

European Union countries have agreed to impose a limited package of sanctions on Russia after Moscow recognized the independence of the self-proclaimed republics of Donetsk and Luhansk.
Scholz, Macron and Biden expressed solidarity with Ukraine and praised the restrained reaction of Ukraine so far under President Zelensky.
