One person dead, 150 evacuated in flash floods in Serbia

Torrential rain and flash flooding on Wednesday afternoon in several parts of Serbia caused the death of one person, while 150 others have had to be evacuated.
Dozens of houses have been flooded.
PM expects economy to grow 4 percent in 2017
The government's goal is to take economic growth to four percent in 2017, "which will prove that Serbia is becoming a successful country."
Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic said this on Wednesday, at the opening of a new Hemofarm pharmaceutical company's plant in Vrsac, northeastern Serbia.

Minister puts new Russian train into service
Infrastructure andTransport Minister Zorana Mihajlovic put into service on Friday a new Russian-made train that will operate along the Belgrade-Vrsac line.
Together with Russian Ambassador Aleksandr Chepurin and representatives of the Serbian and Russian rail companies, Mihajlovic traveled on the new train from Belgrade to Vrsac, in the northeast of the country.

About 60 exhibitors to take part in Vinofest in Vrsac
VRSAC - Vinofest, an international wine fair that will be held for the 10th time in Vrsac, northeastern Serbia, on March 20-21, will bring together about 60 exhibitors displaying over 200 different wines and draw some 2,000 or more visitors.

Storm floods power plant area, several towns
BELGRADE -- A storm that hit Serbia late on Wednesday and heavy rain that continued to fall into Thursday morning are threatening the thermal power plant Kostolac.
Vital facilities and coal mines, as well as the nearby town in eastern Serbia, are all in danger from torrential flooding, said reports.
