Vine wins Tour Down Under
Australia's Jay Vine claimed his first World Tour victory in the Tour Down Under yesterday, with Britain's Simon Yates winning a thrilling uphill battle to take the race's final stage.
Yates (Team Jayco-AlUla) gave one final lung-busting effort to overtake Vine at the Mount Lofty finish for his first-ever victory in Australia, denying Vine from winning a stage at this year's TDU.

Roglič recaptures red jersey at La Vuelta
Lagos de Covadonga – Slovenian cycling star Primož Roglič has recaptured the red jersey at La Vuelta with a win in the mountainous 17th stage on Wednesday that puts him on track for the third consecutive overall victory.
The Jumbo-Visma rider was the only one to join the Colombian Egan Bernal for a runaway 67 kilometres before the finish.

Roglič wins 11th stage of Vuelta, remains third overall
Ciudad Real – Slovenian cyclist Primož Roglič won the 11th, hilly stage of the Vuelta a Espana from Antequera and Valdepenas de Jaen on Wednesday to claim his second stage win in the race. There is however no change in the overall standings for Roglič, as he remains in third place.
Olympic champion Roglič wins 1st stage of Vuelta race
Valladolid – Slovenian Olympic champion in time trial Primož Roglič won the first stage of the 2021 Vuelta a Espana, another time trial, on Saturday to take the red jersey already at the start of his bid to defend the 2020 Vuelta title. His compatriot Jan Tratnik finished third.
Pogačar skips Vuelta, Roglič to defend title
Ljubljana – Slovenian cycling superstar Tadej Pogačar seems to be skipping the 2021 Vuelta a Espana as he is scheduled to attend a reception at his native town of Komenda on 13 August, one day ahead of the start of the race around Spain. Primož Roglič is meanwhile to take part in the race to defend his 2020 title.

Roglič wins his second Tour of the Basque Country, Pogačar 3rd
Bilbao – Slovenian cyclist Primož Roglič (Jumbo-Visma) put up an excellent effort in the last stage of the Tour of the Basque Country on Saturday to win the six-stage race for the second time in his career. His younger compatriot Tadej Pogačar was third overall.
Roglič to go for Tour victory, to skip Vuelta
Amsterdam – Primož Roglič, the Slovenian rider topping the UCI world individual ranking, will make a renewed bid at winning the world’s No. 1 race, Tour de France, after being pipped to the top spot by his compatriot Tadej Pogačar last year. He will not defend the Vuelta win though.

Pogačar will race this year both at Tour de France and Vuelta
Ljubljana – Slovenian star cyclist Tadej Pogačar, the winner of last year’s Tour de France, will defend the title in 2021 and will also participate in the Vuelta a Espana, which he missed in 2020, UAE Team Emirates has announced.
Pogačar’s team announced this as it presented the names of team captains for the three-week Grand Tour races for this year.
Roglič to skip Giro to focus on Tour de France
"I will appear in the Tour de France. I'm looking forward to the start there," Roglič announced at Friday's press conference of his Jumbo-Visma team, adding: "Our goal is to win the Tour. I want to be part of it."

Roglič makes Slovenian sporting history
The victory for the 29-year-old comes after a third place at the Giro d'Italia this year, another Grand Tour. He sat out the Tour de France to prepare for la Vuelta but also because he became father for the first time.
