Croatian Police Probe Serb Mayor for Calling Operation Storm a ‘Crime’
Media reported on Tuesday that the mayor of the Borovo municipality in eastern Croatia, Zoran Bacanovic, is under police investigation over his recent Facebook post about Operation Storm.
Croatian Police Charge Men for Chanting Anti-Serb Songs
After an incident on Sunday, Orthodox Easter, in the village of Borovo in eastern Croatia, when a group of men chanted anti-Serbian songs, Croatian police announced that they will charge the suspects.
Police on Monday said that they had arrested 14 men from the Vukovar-Srijem County "on suspicion of … public incitement to violence and hatred".
Croatia Charges Serb Paramilitary Ex-Fighter with War Crime
Croatian police said on Tuesday that they have charged an unnamed 62-year-old former Serb paramilitary with committing a war crime in the village of Petrovci in eastern Croatia in November 1991.
"On February 15, 2021, the police filed a criminal charge against the 62-year-old suspect at the relevant County State's Attorney's Office in Osijek," a police statement said.
