The Covid-19 pandemic in Greece didn't just expose the vulnerability of the elderly - it magnified it.

A series of measures are being adopted as of Tuesday to protect members of the public from the effects of a heatwave that is expected to push temperatures in Athens and other parts of the country above 40 degrees Celsius until the end of the week.

The issue appears simple: Many children cannot go back to school because they live with a relative who is vulnerable to Covid-19 or have some kind of vulnerability to the illness themselves.

Wider access to technology among young people is giving way to increasing cybercrime, including online grooming, which specifically targets vulnerable children, according to a social media expert.
