VW to lay off 30,000 workers by 2020
Volkswagen, Europe’s largest automaker announced Friday that job cuts would be necessary in order to reduce costs as it seeks to overhaul its plants in Germany and offset the tens of billions of Euros in fines that it must pay after being caught cheating on emissions tests.

Romania to Bill Volkswagen Over Emissions Scandal
The Romanian authorities are waiting until October 7 to receive more data from the German Volkwagen group about its emissions problems before deciding how much more environmental tax the company should pay.
Romania says that Volkswagen or its legal representatives in Romania must pay more environmental tax than it has done.

EU's Schulz says Volkswagen scandal a "heavy blow" for German economy
The head of the European Parliament told a group of German regional newspapers that the emissions scandal at Volkswagen (VW) would hit the German economy hard but Europe?s biggest carmaker was likely to survive the crisis.
Germany?s finance and economy ministers have played down the risk of a broader economic danger for Germany from the scandal.

German car manufacturer Volkswagen (VW) will replace 11 million vehicles that are fitted with the ‘guilty’ software responsible for distorting emissions, according to a statement by the company’s new CEO Matthias Muller.

Anna Stefanopoulou, the Greek mechanical-engineering professor and engine expert at the University of Michigan, who reportedly exposed the Volkswagen emmissions scandal burst the Greek media bubble with a statement on her site:
