A water regime has been implemented in several settlements within the municipalities of Karnobat and Sungurlare in the Burgas region due to high summer temperatures that have caused local water sources to dry up. Heating accidents have left substantial parts of Sofia without warmth and hot water, just three days after the capital's heating system was launched on November 5. The chilly ordeal began with radiators cooling off in districts like "Yavorov" and "Levski V." Toplofikatsia's website assures residents that the "cold shower" is expected to conclude today.

Eager to fight persistent inflation, which spiked in July, the government wants to impose profit restriction on more consumer goods, this time focusing on water heaters and boilers.

The subscribers of the "Sofia Iztok" thermal power plant will be without hot water from July 28 to August 4, announced the capital's "Toplofikatsia" company. The plant provides heat supply to the eastern districts of Sofia, including "Druzhba" and "Mladost".

"If the gas is completely stopped, after the end of May the buses in the public transport will run according to a holiday schedule (30 minutes rough estimate)." This was stated by the director of "Sofia Motor Transport" Slav Monov at an extraordinary meeting of the Commission for Engineering Infrastructure and Energy Planning at the Sofia Municipal Council.

"There is no danger of stopping the hot water in Sofia in the summer due to the suspended gas supplies by Gazprom. No regime will be introduced. However, it is possible to reduce the water temperature." This was stated to bTV by the member of the Supervisory Board of "Toplofikacia" (District Heating) Sofia Valentin Terziiski.

As of today, April 26, Sofia District Heating ("Toplofikacia") will start phasing out the heating in the capital, the company announced.

All share distribution companies have been notified, and the process of shutting down the heating system is expected to be completed by April 28.

Natural gas prices will rise by more than 25% in April, the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (EWRC) decided in the late afternoon yesterday.
