Price of Natural Gas in Bulgaria May Drop by over 13.6% as of October

The price of natural gas may drop by more than 13.6% as of October, according to Ivan Ivanov, Chair of the Commission for Energy and Water Regulation (KEVR).

Ivanov declared Thursday that a price drop exceeding the preliminary estimate of state-owned gas company Bulgariaz of 13.6% would mean that gas rates would have dropped by over 30% in a year.

Energy Watchdog Raises Heating, Electricity Prices, Cuts Gas Price

Bulgaria's energy watchdog DKEVR decided to increase the electricity and central heating and hot water prices and to cut the natural gas price as of July 1. 

On Monday evening it transpired that DKEVR will increase the central heating prices by an average of 2.6% throughout the country – much less than the initially expected average of 10%.

Bulgaria's energy watchdog (DKEVR) will discuss and set price changes for natural gas, electricity and central heating and hot water, to come into effect on July 1. 

It is expected that the price of natural gas will be decreased by 2.47% to BGN 597.69 without excise duty and VAT for 1000 cubic meters.
