Cold water swimmers converge on Bled
Some 1,000 swimmers from all over the world have gathered at the lakeside town of Bled to take part in the 13th Winter Swimming World Championships this week. The oldest among them is about to turn 88.
The participants come from 31 countries, most of them from Finland, the UK, Germany and Denmark, but there are also swimmers from Argentina, Mongolia and Morocco.

Turkish swimmer becomes finswimming world champion
Turkish swimmer Derin Toparlak has become the world champion in the men's 5,000-meter race at the CMAS Open Water Finswimming World Championship held in Santa Marta, Colombia.
Toparlak reached the finish line with a time of 43.50.88 in the breathtaking race.

Kayaker Nejc Žnidarčič wins fifth world champion title
Bratislava – Slovenian kayaker Nejc Žnidaršič won the sprint event at the ICF’s wildwater canoeing world championships in Bratislava, Slovakia, on Sunday to claim his fifth world champion title.
Žnidaršič finished 0.56 seconds ahead of France’s Luca Barone, while another French, Maxence Barouh, won bronze. Slovenia’s Anže Urankar placed fourth.

Turkish swimmer wins historic gold at world championships
Turkish swimmer Derin Toparlak made history by bagging the gold medal in the men's 1,500 meters from the CMAS Finswimming Senior World Championships.
Toparlak became the world champion with a time of 12.38.27 in the men's 1,500 meters in the event, which started on July 5 in Tomsk, Russia, said a Turkish Underwater Sports Federation (TSSF) statement.

The sailing regatta "Cor Carolli 2020" started on August 13. This year the start of the prestigious international competition was given in the coastal city of Bourgas, and the end point is the bay in Varna.
Swimmer crossing the North Channel receives award
Turkish swimmer Kamil Alsaran, 59, passed the North Channel between Ireland and Scotland last year and won as the "oldest male swimmer" and "first Turkish swimmer" who completed this course.
