Driest summer to come, Türkiye on the verge of water crisis
Türkiye is experiencing the driest winter in 22 years and a water crisis is looming in the summer, according to experts.
Even though March 22 is known as World Water Day, many parts of Türkiye are experiencing extraordinary drought. With the decrease in winter precipitation, dams have started to dry up.
Today is World Water Day
On Water Day, children from the Bulgarian town of Omurtag will meet with representatives of the authorities, including the Minister of Regional Development, Ivan Shishkov. The problem in the town has been going on for decades. People there have repeatedly come out in protest demanding a solution to the problem.

Death toll rises to 20 in the flood disaster that hit the southern provinces, as the body of a child who went missing was found hours after the body of her mother was reached on March 20.
During the heavy rain that started late March 14 in the Adıyaman's Tut district that was also devastated by the Feb. 6 earthquakes, Ömerovası Stream overflowed.

Millions of fish have washed up dead in southeastern Australia in a die-off that authorities and scientists say is caused by depleted oxygen levels in the river after recent floods and hot weather.
Residents of the Outback town of Menindee in New South Wales state complained of a terrible smell from the dead fish.

Rainfall will be significant in places, mainly in the eastern half of the country. The wind will be moderate, with a direction from the north-northeast, and colder air will invade with it.
Water level in Istanbul’s dams gradually decreasing
With the drought caused by the lack of rainfall aggravating, the water levels of dams in Istanbul have dropped visibly, raising concerns.
The water level at Büyükçekmece Dam Lake was recorded at 30.94 percent as of March 9.
