Peak water level in Belgrade expected Saturday night
BELGRADE – The water levels on the Danube and Sava rivers in Belgrade are expected to reach their peak during the night between Saturday and Sunday, but there no risk of flooding in the Serbian capital’s central municipalities, Belgrade emergency directorate chief Rade Milosevic said Saturday.
Nikolic: Floods are strong reminder to people of risks
OBRENOVAC - Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic said Saturday that the floods which hit Serbia recently should serve as a sharp reminder to the Serbian people but also as an example of “how the country and its people can get united in a situation.”
Macedonian Opera and Ballet send aid for flood victims
BELGRADE - The Macedonian Opera and Ballet has decided to send the entire proceeds from the play Faust, staged as part the May Opera Evenings in Skopje on May 22, as aid for the people badly hit by the recent massive flooding in Serbia, the National Theatre in Belgrade has said in a release.
Water Levels of Serbian Rivers Start to Fall
Friday night passed off peacefully in flooded areas of Serbia and the overall situation is becoming more stable.
In Obrenovac, the town southwest of Belgrade that suffered the heaviest floods, life is slowly returning to normal. Some people are going home and the army, gendarmerie and veterinary teams are assisting them in dealing with the consequences of the floods.

Nikolic delivers aid to help endangered Ljubovija

Red Cross files list of people gone missing in floods
BELGRADE - President of the Red Cross of the Republic of Serbia Dragan Radovanovic stated on Friday that around 34,000 people were evacuated during the flashing floods in Serbia and added that the list containing the names of 73 people still reported as missing has been filed to the Interior Ministry.
