Bulgarian Parliament Goes on Recess before Election
The last regular sitting of the 44th National Assembly will be next Friday (March 5), after which the parliament will be in recess for the campaign. The decision has been discussed with the parties and will be voted on in plenary tomorrow.
The National Operations Headquarters will Hold Briefings every Thursday
The National Operations Headquarters will hold a press conference once a week at the Council of Ministers. This will happen every Thursday from 08:00, starting May 7.
The headquarters will be available to answer media questions, the government press service said.
Bulgaria’s Parliament Set to Shut
With 115 votes in favour and 65 against, MPs on March 26 accepted the proposal of the Parliament's Speaker, Tsveta Karayancheva, to temporarily suspend sittings. The measure is part of government efforts to curb the spread of coronavirus.
Sittings will only be convened when emergency laws are adopted. Parliamentary questions time will be in writing.

MPs to debate, vote on only one bill per week, committee says
The Greek Parliament's Conference of Presidents on Wednesday decided that only one bill shall be put to vote each week, as part of the measures put in placeby the House to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
Priority will be given to the introduction of bills relating to the management of emergency situations, while debates will be held once a week, every Thursday.
The UK Parliament Announced its Suspension
The UK Parliament announced its suspension at midnight, 25 days before the upcoming elections.
The dissolution of Parliament means that the House of Commons and the House of Lords cease to exist. The new House of Commons will be elected on December 12, while the Lords will retain their positions.

Bulgaria’s Parliament Sitting Failed, the Reason - Lack of Quorum
Bulgaria's Parliament failed to sit on October 11 due to lack of quorum. Parliament made two succesive attempts to secure quorum. Of the 121 MPs required, 106 registered in the plenary hall. 112 MPs registered during a second attempt to achieve quorum, BNT reported.

Prespes name deal to go before Parliament's foreign affairs committee
The contentious Prespes name deal is to go before Parliament's foreign affairs committee at 5 p.m. on Monday for debate.
It remains unclear how many sessions the committee will require to examine the deal before forwarding it to the House's plenary for a vote.
Parliament Speaker Nikos Voutsis indicated last week that the deal will go to a vote by the end of this week.
