Hundreds of firefighters continued on Tuesday to battle a massive blaze in the northeastern region of Evros for the eleventh day. The fire has killed 21 people over the past 10 days, becoming Europe's deadliest wildfire so far this summer.

Agriculture and Forestry Minister İbrahim Yumaklı has announced that 1.5 million saplings will be planted by the end of 2024 to reforest the areas damaged by the wildfires in the northwestern province of Çanakkale.

Over 350 firefighters, 50 vehicles, and 12 aircraft have been mobilized by the European Commission, "helping to battle the flames across Greece," European Commission spokesperson for Budget and Human Resources, Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management Balazs Ujvari said in a statement uploaded on social media on Monday.
