Representatives of some 70 countries gathered in Ljubljana on 15 May for a two-week conference in a bid to finalise what is considered to be the first key international treaty on prosecution of atrocities since the 1998 Rome Statute.

Israel's representative was conspicuously missing when the UN Human Rights Council started a special session March 23 on the situation in Palestine and the 2014 Gaza conflict.
      

Israel called Feb. 3 for the shelving of a UN inquiry into its war last summer in the Gaza Strip after the probe's head quit over Israeli accusations of conflict of interest.
      

THE HAGUE - Serbia's legal representative William Schabas has underscored in the continuation of the dispute between the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague that Croatia did not present any evidence about the existence of a plan by the Serbian authorities to commit genocide against Croats during the war in 1991.
