Flying Broom Film Fest closes online amid outbreak
The 23rd Flying Broom International Women's Film Festival came to a close on May 14 with a videoconference ceremony as the world continued to grapple with the novel coronavirus.
A total of 1,301 women directors from various countries applied for the festival this year.
Seventy-six films from 31 countries were screened online for film lovers.

Akerman films come to Istanbul Modern
Between March 10 and 20, Istanbul Modern Cinema will present the most comprehensive retrospective ever organized in Turkey of Belgian director Chantal Akerman, a pioneer of experimental and feminist cinema who passed away in October 2015.
The program of 16 films will be organized in collaboration with the Filmmor Women's Film Festival.

Study finds women few, far between in Hollywood films
Less than a third of the characters in top-grossing Hollywood films are female, and women directors are much rarer still, according to a study that bemoaned Tinseltown's lack of diversity.
