Greece's progress in the global innovation index is hindered by perennial problems that the country faces, such as the absence of a stable regulatory framework, as well as the incomplete interconnection of universities with industry at the level of research and development.

A revival of industrial policies is under way around the world, the United Nations said Thursday, with countries going for technological innovation to diversify their economies.

The U.N.'s World Intellectual Property Organization said greater productivity levels could be reached through specialising in existing strengths.

The Ljubljana-based company Aerosol is one of the six recipients of this year's WIPO Global Awards for SMEs that use intellectual property rights to make their business ideas a reality and contribute to a better future by applying innovation and creativity.
