Reigning Australian Open champion Caroline Wozniacki says she believes she can go "all the way" at next month's French Open, but is wary of a possible early clash with the returning Serena Williams.

A spectator made a marriage proposal to Russian tennis player Maria Sharapova during her TEB BNP Paribas Tennis Stars Series match against Çağla Büyükakçay in Istanbul on Nov. 26.

Five-time Grand Slam champion Maria Sharapova wins her opening match at Bank of the West Tennis Tournament 6-1, 4-6, 6-0 against Jennifer Brady, Mercurynews reports.

This was her first U.S. tournament since March 2015. She has not played in the Bank of the West since 2011 and has made just four appearances total in the event.

ROME - Serbia's top-ranked female tennis player Jelena Jankovic has got off to a successful start at the Rome WTA tournament after beating American Alison Riske 6-3, 6-3 in the first round late Monday.

Jankovic, who won after 84 minutes, is now 2-0 head-to-head against Riske.

INDIAN WELLS - Serbia's top-ranked female tennis player Jelena Jankovic has got off to a successful start at the Indian Wells tournament after beating American Irina Falconi 6-2, 3-6, 6-3.

Jankovic won their first-ever encounter after slightly over two hours of play and a series of errors and break points, especially in the second set.

TAIPEI - Serbia's top-ranked female tennis player, Jelena Jankovic, has suffered an early exit from the WTA tournament in Chinese Taipei after losing 6-7 (4-7), 7-5, 6-4 to Kurumi Nara of Japan in the opening round on Tuesday.

Eight-seeded Jankovic lost to world number 87 Nara after two hours and 44 minutes of play.

MELBOURNE - Serbians Jelena Jankovic and Viktor Troicki have both been knocked out in the third round of the Australian Open singles.

After 90 minutes of play, Jankovic lost 6-4, 5-7, 9-7 to Russian Svetlana Kuznetsova, who will face compatriot Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in the next round.

Romanian tennis player Simona Halep advanced to the final of the 2014 WTA Finals in Singapore as she defeated Poland's Agnieszka Radwanska, 6-2, 6-2, in the Saturday's semis of the 6.5-million-US-dollar tournament.

Romania's female tennis player Simona Halep on Friday was defeated by Serbian Ana Ivanovic, 7-6, 3-6, 6-3, in the last fixture of the Red Group at the 2014 WTA Finals in Singapore, but she and US player Serena Williams advanced to the tournament's semis on Saturday.

For her advancement to the semis, Halep takes home 463,000 US dollars and 530 WTA points.
