Lycian artifacts at new museum draw tourists
The Lycian Civilizations Museum, opened last year in the southern province of Antalya's Demre district, has been displaying artifacts indoors and outside.
A total of 1009 artifacts unearthed during excavations in the Lycian League cities have been drawing local and foreign tourists to the region.

Bid to curb under-the-table payments at state hospitals

Health minister planning to make birth control pills free

Excavation season starts at ancient Xanthos
Excavation work has started for the summer season at one of the six largest cities of the Lycian Union, the ancient city of Xanthos, located in the southern province of Antalya's Ka? district.
The ancient site has entered the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List along with 15 other historical artifacts.

Stone Sculpture Symposium at UNESCO world heritage site
In the Mediterranean resort province of Antalya, the second Stone Sculpture Symposium will be held in the Ka? district, which was recently added to the UNESCO World Heritage List.
At the symposium to be held at the ancient site of Xanthos, nine marble seating areas that fit the historical fabric of the site will also be installed.
Minister pledges new facilities in hospitals for patient support
The government aims to create help centers for patients at public hospitals, Alternate Health Minister Andreas Xanthos said on Thursday.
Xanthos met with Ombudsman Calliope Spanou to discuss the matter and said that the centers would be called Offices for the Protection of Patients? Rights, providing assistance to citizens who have problems with the health service.
Santa Claus Museum most popular among Antalya tourists
The Santa Claus Museum in Antalya's Demre is the most visited place by tourists, especially the French, in the whole region. It is followed by the ancient city of Myra In the first nine months of 2014, 2.6 million Turkish and foreign people visited the ancient sites in the southern province of Antalya. It is expected that this figure reached 2.8 million by the end of the year.
