Tsipras, Zaev to meet in Skopje on Tuesday

Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras will meet with his counterpart of North Macedonia Zoran Zaev in Skopje on Tuesday, April 2, the state-run Athens-Macedonian news agency reports.
Talks between the two leaders will be followed by a meeting of the Hellenic-North Macedonia Cooperation Council. A joint press conference will follow.

The President of the Macedonian Parliament Comes to Bulgaria to Vote on the Protocol

Macedonian Parliament Speaker Talat Xhaferi will attend the vote in the Bulgarian National Assembly on his country's NATO Accession Protocol, reported the Bulgarian National Television. 

On 15 February, the Parliamentary Defense Committee approved the Protocol. Voting is expected to take place on Wednesday - 20 February.

FYROM looks ready to pass name deal before January 15

The prime minister of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM), Zoran Zaev, appears confident of mustering the support of the 80 MPs needed to ratify the name deal with Greece, telling his country's 24 TV channel on Thursday that he "genuinely believes it will be possible to get support from 85 or 90 lawmakers, if not more."

FYROM parliament vote on final amendments seen on Jan 15

A vote by lawmakers in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) on the final amendments to revise the constitution in accordance with the Prespes accord signed with Greece is expected to be held on January 15, House speaker Talat Xhaferi said Monday.

He said that the parliamentary committees tasked with reviewing the final amendments will convene as of December 17.

FYROM parliament to vote on constitutional amendments on Dec. 1

The Parliament of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) will vote on the four constitutional amendments demanded by Greece to wrap up a deal ending a name dispute on December 1.

FYROM Parliament head Talat Xhaferi convened a plenary sitting of the House on  December 1 to vote on the changes.

Macedonian president to veto Albanian as official language?

This happened without a debate on amendments, with 64 votes in favor, and none against or abstained.

This legal act introduces the Albanian language as the second official language in the country.

Assembly Speaker Talat Xhaferi, from the Albanian DUI party, thus carried out his plan and rejected a debate on amendments.
