Negotiators discussed what they’re calling a “mini” ceasefire proposal in Doha, which, according to a Jerusalem Post report, would enable a short-term pause in hostilities between Israel and Hamas with the release of a limited number of hostages.

The war between Israel and Hamas has claimed the lives of 770 people in less than three weeks in the northern part of the Gaza Strip, the Palestinian enclave’s Civil Defense Agency said today, and as new talks aimed at reaching a ceasefire are underway.

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken landed Tuesday in Israel in a renewed push for a Gaza ceasefire, days after Israeli forces killed Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar.

Earlier this morning, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's private residence in Caesarea was the target of a drone attack launched from Lebanon, according to reports by The Times of Israel citing the Prime Minister's Office. The statement clarified that neither Netanyahu nor his wife, Sara, were at home during the incident, and no injuries were reported.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz arrived in Istanbul late Friday for talks with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, focusing on migration, regional conflicts, and defense cooperation.

With Sinwar now dead for 72 hours, the succession is a pressing issue not only for Hamas and Israel but also for the other “regional players” in the area.

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has engaged in discussions with senior Hamas officials in Istanbul to advance efforts towards a ceasefire that would facilitate a prisoner exchange between Israel and Hamas.

According to a statement from the Foreign Ministry, Fidan met with Mohammad Darwish Ismail, Chairman of Hamas' Shura Council, and other key members of Hamas' Political Bureau.
