More than a hundred students residing in a state dormitory in western Isparta city have been rushed to hospitals on suspicion of food poisoning on Dec. 28.

A man opened fire and wounded two of his ex-wife's family members with a gun at a courthouse in the central Anatolian province of Isparta on Aug. 31. The assailant was captured by the police after the shooting. 

The 6th-century sculpture of a priest has been stolen from a museum in the Yalvaç district of the southwestern Turkish province of Isparta. 

The 70-centimeter sculpture had been in the garden of the museum, located between the Yalvaç Court House and the Government Office and surrounded by a one-meter wall and two-meter iron fences. 

An ancient city now located in a hilly area in the southwestern province of Isparta was once the site of gladiatorial battles to the death, according to reliefs that were recently found on the site.

A big church in the ancient city of Pisidia, located in the southern province of Isparta's Yalvaç district, has been finally unearthed after three years of work. 
The church, built in the sixth century, is believed to have been destroyed during a big fire in the 11th or 12th century. 

Continuing excavations in the Pisidia Antiocheia ancient city in the southern province of Isparta's Yalvaç district have unearthed a 1,800-year-old relief that will shed light on daily life in the city.
