Yamal–Europe pipeline

The Canadian government says it will allow the delivery to Germany of equipment from a key Russia-Europe natural gas pipeline that has undergone maintenance _ equipment the absence of which Russia's Gazprom cited last month as a reason for more than halving the flow of gas.

The Russian government has authorized the temporary lifting of "mirror sanctions" and allowed for 90 days the flow of natural gas supplies from Yamal LNG to Gazprom Marketing & Trading Singapore Ltd, which is part of Gazprom Germany, shows a government decree on Wednesday, Reuters reported.

Poland and Bulgaria said Russian energy giant Gazprom's decision to halt natural gas supplies to them won't cause unbearable problems as they either have enough gas stored, or have alternatives to draw on.

Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki called Gazprom's move "a direct attack on Poland, revenge for the sanctions we imposed", in relation to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Russia's Gazprom has retained part of the capacity of the Yamal-Europe pipeline for the transit of blue fuel through Poland for the first time in 43 days. Information about this is published in the GSA Platform. According to the information, 12.53 million cubic meters of gas will be transited through Yamal-Europe on February 2.

Natural gas in Europe has fallen to 70 euros per megawatt-hour, approaching levels not seen in the last two months. This is happening against the background of increasing flows of liquefied natural gas, higher wind energy production, and increasing use of gas from storage facilities in Germany.

Novatek's Yamal liquefied natural gas (LNG) project will increase Russia's global natural gas exports by around 10 percent, Russian Deputy Energy Minister Anton Inyutsyn said on July 12.      

Bulgaria and other EU members are being pressured into pulling out of the South Stream pipeline, Russian Economy Minister Alexander Novak said.

In a speech held at the 21st World Petroleum Congress in Moscow, he argued the EU had taken "a tough stance" on the exploitation of trans-border infrastructural projects "with Russian participation".
