Youth to present report on new charter to parliament
Young delegates representing all provinces of the country are set to submit a report to the parliament following their convention for a workshop aimed at contributing to the drafting of a new constitution.
Some 20,000 people visit notorious Marmara island since inauguration
Yassıada, a Marmara island notorious for its jails and trials from the 1960 military coup, has hosted more than 20,000 visitors since it was inaugurated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in May 2020.

Following a comprehensive transformation works and construction of new facilities, Democracy and Freedom Island, one of the Princes' Islands located in the Marmara Sea off Istanbul, open its doors for public visitors.
Yassıada 'Democracy and Freedoms Island' inaugurated
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan inaugurated Democracy and Freedom Island on May 27 in waters near Istanbul on the 60th anniversary of a coup in Turkey.
"60 years ago, Turkey experienced one of the darkest days of its history with May 27 coup," Erdoğan said during the inauguration ceremony.

Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) leader Devlet Bahçeli is also expected to attend the ceremony.

Yassıada, a small island located off the coast of Istanbul's Asian side in the Marmara Sea and was officially renamed "Democracy and Freedom Island" in 2013, is undergoing major changes.
New project to boost Turkish diving tourism
A project, which has been prepared to bring underwater culture tourism to the historic island of Yassıada, has been delivered to the Culture and Tourism Ministry. The projects aims to make Yassıada ready for divers.

Population on Istanbul's Princes islands to rise more than fivefold if new construction plan is accepted
A plan that would pave the way for far-flung construction on Istanbul's Princes Islands "Adalar" has been presented to an Istanbul preservation board. If the plan is approved, the population on the islands, recorded as 14,000 in the last census conducted seven years ago, will grow apace to 76,000.
