A new building is under construction for destroyed stones that have been unearthed during excavations in the ancient city of Stratonikeia. The new building will serve as a "stone hospital," which was previously a tent.

A roof has been constructed to protect the 1,600-year-old Byzantine-era mosaics in the ancient city of Stratonikeia in the western province of Muğla's Yatağan district while the work is underway to make a glass terrace.

Visitors marvel at centuries-old mosaics featured under the garden of a hospital in the southwestern province of Muğla.

The largest marble city in the world, located in Turkey's western Muğla province, continues to attract local and international tourists with its 3,000-year-old historical remains.

In the ancient city of Stratonikeia, located in the western province of Muğla's Yatağan district, an early Byzantine-era church and a mosaic floor dating back to 1,500 years have been unearthed. The ancient city has been known as the city of gladiators. The city's restoration has recently been completed and it is also home to an Ottoman-era mosque.

Two hectares of forest land were reduced to ashes in the Mediterranean province of Antalya's touristic Kemer district on Aug. 27 while another four hectares of land burned down on the same day in the Aegean province of Muğla's Yatağan district.

Findings unearthed at the ancient city of Stratonikeia in the southwestern province of Muğla, as well as  the structures to be restored there, are being revived through special drawings made by an excavation painter.
 

A building completed during the Turkish republican era, located in the 2,300-year-old ancient city of Stratonikeia in the western province of Muğla and included on the UNESCO Tentative List, will be restored and used for touristic purposes. 

Hellenistic-era jewelry has been seized following an operation on the house of a person who was allegedly conducting illegal excavations in the western province of Muğla's Yatağan district. The jewelry is reportedly worth between 500,000 and 1 million Turkish Liras.

Some 65 Byzantine-era tombs have been unearthed in the most recent archaeological excavations in the ancient city of Stratonikeia, known as the city of gladiators in the western province of Muğla's Yatağan district.
