Force behind Greek music powerhouse Columbia records dies, aged 91
Record producer Takis Lambropoulos, credited with revolutionizing the Greek music industry in the 1960s and 70s from the helm of the Columbia Gramophone Company Greece, has died at the age of 91, it was announced on Friday.
Greek Yale professor appeals to Greeks to respect lockdown
The Greek Yale University professor, Nicholas A. Christakis, has called on Greeks, in a post on Twitter, to honor the new lockdown announced by Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Sunday and self-isolate.

Bhta performs a musical interpretation of Ritsos' poems and establishes a dialogue between the sounds and the words read, pushing the barriers of communication to another level.

The Jive Aces | Epirus | August 9
UK swing band the Jive Aces will be performing at the Municipal Gardens in Preveza on Friday, August 9. After going viral on YouTube with their recording of "Bring Me Sunshine," the six-member outfit launched into mainstream culture. The Paramythias theater presents "Ismene," a production by Sofia Savvidou based on a poem by Yiannis Ritsos. One of Ritsos' perennial works, "Ismene" retells the myth of Antigone, the daughter of Oedipus and Jocasta, through the point of view of her sister.

Seven Artists | Athens | June 2-30
Seven talented artists express their reflections and emotions in experiential artworks that are going on display at the Chryssothemis Gallery in the northern Athens suburb of Halandri. The gallery was launched in spring of 1979 under the direction of Zoi Psarrou. Its name is taken from a poem by Giannis Ritsos.
